Abstract

The deficit and the growing demand for water in urban areas causes rise in the hydrogeological prospecting. The problem concerns quality as much as quantity. Many groundwater exploration programs are increasingly focusing on deep production zones because providing sufficient amounts of water to the growing urban centres is in itself a challenge. CSAMT method has many advantages for survey in noisy area. It uses an artificial signal source and provides strong and more reliable signal. For hydrological investigations, CSAMT data may provide critical information about geologic structure, lithology, water table trends, and trends in pore fluid salinity. The present of groundwater will greatly reduce the resistivity of all rocks and sedimentary materials through electrolytic conduction. Because of this effect, groundwater is and good target for electrical and electromagnetic geophysical methods that measure resistivity. Briefly summaries investigation results from four separate CSAMT survey areas are present in this paper. The localization of surveys in noisy areas i.e. close to cities, electric railways, electric lines, manufactures and the deep of investigation was a main reasons of application of CSAMT method.
