Abstract
H030 Pre-stack simultaneous AVO inversion on the South Arne chalk field Danish North Sea. Abstract A strong correlation exists between acoustic impedances and porosity in the South Arne reservoir chalk and hence seismic inversion for acoustic impedances is valuable for porosity estimations. The aim of this study is to use pre-stack simultaneous AVO inversion 1 to improve the estimated acoustic impedance compared to the output of full stack inversion. Density estimates from the pre-stack simultaneous AVO inversion may then be used to support porosity prediction and Poisson’s ratio may be used to interpret variations in fluid content.
