Abstract
Hydrocarbon exploration in Mizoram state is extremely challenging task because of difficult terrain with complex geology. Adequate basement depth estimation by only available crooked seismic data is extremely difficult in such kind of drastic terrain and complex thrust-fold belt area for hydrocarbon exploration. The depth of sedimentation is more than 10 km and seismic has its own limitation for mapping the basement depth. Gravity-magnetic data interpretation affords a strapping hold to extract the correct geological information for integrated interpretation. This paper deals with the direct basement depth estimation using 3-D Euler deconvolution technique, radial average power spectrum analysis of gravity-magnetic data, tilt angle and horizontal tilt angle map analysis are carried out for identifying the source-edge locations. The results are correlated with the identified thrust/fault study from geological filed modeling. The results derived from Euler depth solution and tilt angle, horizontal tilt angle map analysis provide additional thrust and fault information which can be used for integrated geo-scientific study for better hydrocarbon exploration.
