Abstract

Summary

This paper introduces a new method for determining the location and depth of potential field sources using the Tilt Angle of the Analytical signal amplitude. Magnetic data do not have to be pole reduced prior to its application. The method works for sources of type 1/r^N, as well as for dykes and contacts. Dip and susceptibility can also be obtained for the latter models. Determining the source location and depth does not require the source type to be a priori specified. The method works for both profile and map datasets and is computationally undemanding.
