Abstract
Summary
Using examples from the Foinaven, Schiehallion and Loyal fields in the West of Shetlands area, the impact of improvements in processing technology on the 4D seismic repeatability is demonstrated after parallel processing of all 10 acquisition vintages. We show that the quality has been incrementally improved, with a reduction of background noise and therefore a better stand-out of the 4D signal. A combination of processes is contributing to the 4D S/N improvement. The quality of the final result is due to a mix of new technology, careful QC (comparing back to the previous processing results) and continuous work in fine-tuning the 4D sequence.
