Abstract

Summary

The traditional passive seismic data which is used to estimate primaries is usually using acoustic modeling, only including P-waves. The paper uses elastic modeling to simulate the passive seismic data, which not only contains P-waves, but also includes S-waves. We directly estimate primaries from the passive elastic-seismic data. Comparing with the result obtained by cross-correlation, the surface-related multiples of P-wave and S-wave are suppressed. And the S-waves which energy is weaker are present. That illustrates the method of estimating primaries from passive elastic-seismic data is feasible and effective.
