Abstract
The potential and depleted reservoirs from oil and gas blocks offers storage space for other fluids like carbon dioxide, where they can be injected and stored from the surface of the earth. The technology though revolutionary for a sustainable future does require the prior knowledge of effective stress and pore pressure for getting information about the fracture gradient and finding the direction of maximum horizontal stress. More often than not we have 3D seismic data with us in Time Domain. In this paper we demonstrate a new methodology to find the effective stress and pore pressure using seismic two way time and generate effective stress and pore pressure cubes. The study was conducted on the F3 Block on the Dutch Offshore sector in the North Sea and the results were validated with two wells drilled in the block.
