Abstract

Summary

In this paper, an unconventional approach to paleoreconstruction and tracing of tectonic disturbances was used, which made it possible to reveal regular features of fault development, as well as the effect of precipitation accumulation on post-sedimentation changes in the initial geometric position of the faults. The article considers an field confined to the area of active rifting and developed volcanism. The target formations is located in a large area of destruction on the lowered block of the structure, which implies the development of an extensive network of fractures and faults. The study is confined to the Fula sub-basin in the larger Muglad Basin (Sudan, Africa)
