Abstract
Oil flow from matrix to fractures system in naturally fractured reservoirs is depended on imbibition process. Imbibition is occurred due to the presence of capillary forces. Recent investigations show that capillary pressure value may be affected by the rate of change of saturation of the wetting phase in addition to the wetting phase saturation itself. In this work, the impact of considering dynamic capillary pressure effects in imbibition processes will be investigated. So, a new method has been used to simulate dynamic capillary pressure effects using the available commercial simulators. The results show that imbibition recovery may be highly affected by dynamic capillary effects. Also, it can be concluded that considering non-equilibrium effects increases the dissimilarity of imbibition recovery curves.
