Abstract
We discuss some aspects of methodology and instrumentation for pretty deep (a few hundred meters) resistivity and IP tomography. Deep IP tomography is quite often needed for the efficient exploration of some types of ore deposits: copper-porphyry, gold-bearing, kimberlites, uranium etc. The automated system (ASET-IP) for poledipole IP electrical tomography is presented. The ASET-IP tomography system is based on an active current cable assembly and a remote control switchboard that provide with fully automatic measuring process. Some results of application of deep IP tomography for exploration of gold-bearing mineralization, kimberlite pipe, uranium-bearing ore and polysulfide mineralization are presented as an example. Joint use of ERT and TEM sounding is also discussed.
