Abstract
We are dealing with the igneous reservoir characterization with the depth at about 5700∼6000 m in one of our seismic reservoir characterization studies of Zhunggar basin, western China. According to the geological setting in the area, the identification of volcanic vents and structures is the most important to accomplish the igneous reservoir characterization, which controlled the distribution of volcanic body and the different volcanic facies. In order to accurately delineating volcanic rock features, we use the new high resolution seismic coherency attributes produced by our proposed method. The proposed method can give the high resolution coherency seismic attributes by carrying out the high order partial derivatives and convolution of Gaussian Kernel on eigenvalues-based coherency value from the algorithm called C3. The results from our several studies have proved the validation of the proposed method, and the results from above mentioned study are very helpful in the igneous reservoir characterization and drilling sites selection in the area.
