Abstract

Summary

We present a case study on the building rock physics and modelling of anisotropic seismograms based on the real W99 well in Jianghan, China. For the construction of the rock physics model, we chose the Voigt-Reuss-Hill model and self-consistent approximation model in assembling mixed models with non-clay and clay minerals, pores and fluid. Then, we obtained the equiva-lent elastic modulus and simulated P-wave velocity based on the background media. We also introduced a set of horizontal fractures according to the real field data statistics of fractures and fitted the velocity parameter of the rock physics model to the real field well logging data by finding the optimum fracture parameters, including fracture density and fracture length. We thus obtained the corresponding anisotropic parameters, which are used to synthesize anisotropic seismograms. Finally, the differences between isotropic and anisotropic seismograms are ob-tained, which can be used to analyse the influence of anisotropic characteristics on the AVO responses for planning further research.
