Abstract

Summary

The role of the CTBTO is to ensure that the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test Ban Treaty is observed by means of detecting nuclear tests. The data collected by its International Monitoring Station, however, can and have been used to contribute to sustainable development, knowledge expansion and human welfare. A number of such civil and scientific applications are be presented as well as vDEC, a system put in place by the CTBTO to share its data with interested parties.
