Abstract

Chris Nind and Harold O. Seigel (Scintrex) and Michel Chouteau and Bernard Giroux (École Polytechnique de Montréal) explain the background to a new gravity sensor based on proven quartz element technology which is small enough in diameter to operate in mining industry exploratory boreholes as deep as 2 km but able to offer the same sensitivity as today’s surface gravimeters.
