Abstract

Summary

With over 50 years’ development, the airborne magnetic and gravity survey technique has gradually formed the complete technical system and made a lot of progress in its instrument development, system integration, data processing and interpretation, etc. It has the production capability of covering China’s whole territory from sea and oceans to plateau.

The major progress of airborne magnetic and gravity technique in China include:several kinds of airborne magnetic surveying instruments with advanced world levels on the basis of independent innovation were developed, such as the self-developed HC-07 helium optically pumped magnetometer with a sensitivity of 2.5pT, the integration of the airborne gravity survey system has attained practical production capability, the airborne geophysical data processing and mapping software system (Airprobe) has been independently developed and so on.

However, there is a technical gap between China and advanced world level in airborne survey method and technique, which lies mainly in the holoaxial gradient survey and three-component survey. And the airborne gravity survey in China is still in its beginning stages.

During a certain period in future, the airborne geophysical exploration should further raise the resolving power and detection depth of the airborne geophysical exploration for objectives and continuously improve its capability for solving geological and ore-searching problems.
