Abstract

In our previous paper on the analysis of full waveform sonic data (Astbury & Worthington 1986), hereinafter referred to as Part I, discussion was restricted to the dominant phases of a sonic waveform: the compressional head wave, the shear/pseudo-Rayleigh wave, the Stoneley wave and the fluid wave. This paper is devoted to a consideration of other phases that can be identified as multiples, mode conversions and reflections. The utility of full waveform sonic data is greatly increased if such events can be correctly analysed and interpreted.
