Abstract
The need for geophysical data covering the northern Barents Sea (south of Svalbard) prompted the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) and GECO a.s. to conduct an aeromagnetic survey for the oil industry, to identify the main structural features. The area lies between 15° and 32°E and between 74°30' and 78°N and is located within the auroral belt.
