A PC-based seismic acquisition system

We describe a simple system for recording marine seismic reflection data in digital form on to half-inch digital magnetic tape in industry-standard SEG Y format. The system will sample up to 16 input channels simultaneously at intervals of 2 ms, or fewer channels at faster sampling rates. Single channel data can be sampled at up to 4000 samples per second. The data from a selected channel are displayed in real time as a graphical display in either wiggle trace or variable area form with up to 64 past traces visible at once.
