Abstract

This paper compares the result of inverting d.c. resistivity data using Pekeris' direct method of interpretation and an indirect non-linear least-squares method. There are two major differences in approach between the direct and indirect methods used in inverting resistivity data. The first is that the direct interpretation method does not require an initial model where as the indirect method does.
