Abstract

It is weIl known that the geology of the southwest peninsula of England is dominated by the large granitic batholith which underlies the region. It is also widely accepted that this region, which has the largest geothermal anomaly in the United Kingdom, owes its high heat flows mainly to the high heat production within the granite (Wheildon et al. 1980; Francis 1980).
