Abstract

In recent years the financial cost of offshore oil and gas field development has promoted intense interest in the quantitative 3D description of hydrocarbon reservoirs, utilizing workstation technology. The main aims of this procedure are to produce volumetric models for the spatial distribution of reservoir/non-reservoir elements, using both deterministic and probabilistic geostatistical techniques to interpolate weIl data into the inter-weIl volume.
