Evaluation of Pliocene bright spots in the Adriatic Sea, Italy - Volcanic ash or gas
Authors B. Pironen and J.M. ChampanhetThe studied zone is part of the Central Appennines and is located along the Adriatic shoreline, between the Gargano promontory and the city of Pescara (Fig. 1). The main geological feature is a Plio-Pleistocene basin (Molisan basin) which is bounded on the west by the carbonate structures of the Gran Sasso, Maiella and opened towards the east (Antonioni and Anselmi 1986). The sub stratum of this Plio-Pleistocene basin (Fig. 1) is made up of Cretaceous carbonates, structured in horsts and grabens and subsequently covered by a carbonate transgressive Oligo-Miocene series (Casnedi et al. 1981; Mostardini and Merlini 1986).

Land data examples of Radon multiple suppresion
Authors P.G. Kelamis and E.F. ChiburisThe formulation of the forward/inverse Radon transform as a generalized linear inverse problem has opened new possibilities in the processing of seismic reflection data. Multiple elimination, as well as noise reduction procedures based on Radon transforms, offer an alternative to the more conventional deconvolution and F/K methods. The increased resolution in 'model space' , obtained via the forward transform, is the cornerstone for multiple attenuation. Thus, by inverse mapping the multiples and subtracting them from the original CMP gather, a primaries-only gather is obtained.
