Pulled Array Continuous Electrical Profiling
By K. SørensenThe electrical profiling method has been used widely for decades and has proved to be a powerful technique for mapping near-surface geology. Applications have been manifold: prospecting for raw materials, hydrogeological investigations, road and pip eline construction, etc. During recent years the method has gained a central position in Denmark for the detailed, regional mapping of protective clay caps of aquifers (Christensen and Serensen 1994).

Seismic reflection modelling and imaging of a thermal enhanced oil recovery project at Cold Lake, Canada
Authors F. Kalantzis, E.R. Kanasewich, A. Vafidis and A. KostykevichEnormous reserves of bitumen or heavy oil are present in complex reservoirs in sands of Lower Cretaceous age in Alberta, Canada (Fig. 1). This bitumen is a low gravity high-viscosity oil, which is immobile under reservoir conditions. Since only 7% of these deposits are accessible to surface mining, pilot studies are carried out and production fields are developed to reeover the oil through in-situ methods.

Joint application of radio-magnetotelluric and electrical imaging surveys in complex subsurface environments
Authors P. Turberg and R. BarkerElectrical resistivity surveying has long been recognized as an important tool in the investigation of the subsurface in groundwater and extractive mineral investigations. However, in many situations popular resistivity sounding provides only a simplistic model of the subsurface especially where, in reality, considerable heterogeneity may exist.
