Geostatical estimation of depth conversion velocity using well control and gravity data
Authors R.W. Jeffery, I.C.F. Stewart and D.W. AlexanderThe Saudi Arabian Oil Company has recently begun acquisition of three-dimensional (3D) seismic coverage over its extensive Ghawar field. Precise depth estimates to the top of the Jurassic Arab-D reservoir using the 3D seismic data are essential for development programs, including the location of both vertical and horizontal wells.

Crosswell tomography and reflection imaging - Lodève test site
Authors M. Becquey, J. Laurent and P. MeynierCrossweIl imaging techniques have been the subject of many experiments and publications that have discussed their ability to improve imaging resolution, especially direct traveltime tornography. Williamson (1991) stated that traveltime tomography is unable to discriminate features smaller than the first Fresnel zone, i.e, about 20 m for wells 100 m apart. but suggested, after numerical experiments (Williamson & Worthington 1993), that this estimate could be too high.
