Velocity inversion in the Lodhika area, Saurashtra peninsula, Western India
Authors M. M. Dixit, N. Satya Vani, D. Sarkar, P. Khare and P.R. ReddyRefraction seismic surveying was the first major geophysical method to be applied in the search for oil-bearing structures. Today, however, oil exploration relies almost exclusively on near-vertical reflection technology. Yet, refraction surveying, as it has a number of important advantages, is still occasionally used in oil exploration, particularly where it can assist in resolving complicated problems in structural geology.
