Detailed mapping of Miocene sand-rich deposits in Denmark with high-resolution 2D land streamer vibroseis
Authors T. Vangkilde-Pedersen, E.S. Rasmussen and M. KristensenT. Vangkilde-Pedersen, E.S. Rasmussen and M. Kristensen present large-scale use of onshore high-resolution 2D seismic in regional groundwater mapping adopting a multi-disciplinary approach, including sedimentology and biostratigraphy in a sequence-stratigraphic framework.

Using high-resolution electrical resistivity maps in a watershed vulnerability study
Authors M. Dabas, T. Jubeau, D. Rouiller, J.M. Larcher, S. Charriere and T. ConstantMichel Dabas, Thomas Jubeau, Dominique Rouiller, Jean-Marie Larcher, Séverine Charriere and Thibault Constant illustrate with a French case study the contribution for agricultural purposes of high-resolution geophysics and specifically apparent electrical resistivity ER) measurements at three depths of investigation using a specially developed ARP system to determine the intrinsic vulnerability of a water catchment area to pollution hazard.

A hybrid imaging solution for a complex near surface
Authors L. Hu, S.M. Al-Saleh and K. SlizLeon Hu, Saleh M. Al-Saleh and Krzysztof (Kris) Sliz show how the imaging of the well known challenges of some Middle East near-surface conditions can be achieved with a hybrid datuming technique, based on space-frequency explicit wavefield extrapolation, that can datum prestack data directly from topography and also handle strong lateral velocity variations.

Geophysics and preventive archaeology in France: new inter-disciplinary issues
Authors G. Hulin and F.X. SimonG. Hulin and F.X. Simon present case studies to highlight the variety of archaeological issues that can be solved by applying geophysical methods.

Maximizing the value of 3D seismic data for shallow geohazard identification
Authors J. Selvage, C. Jones and J. EdgarJames Selvage, Charles Jones and Jonathan Edgar describe methods to detect and analyze geohazards using 3D seismic data. They discuss the suitability of 3D seismic data for this purpose and the future directions for automating and improving seismic geohazard detection.

Introducing a new generation multi-sensor airborne system for mapping sea ice cover of polar oceans
Authors A.A. Pfaffhuber, S. Hendricks, P. Hunkeler and Y.A. KvistedalAndreas A. Pfaffhuber, Stefan Hendricks, Priska Hunkeler and Yme A. Kvistedal present MAiSIE (Multi-sensor, Airborne Sea Ice Explorer), a new generation of helicopter-electromagnetic (HEM) ice thickness mapping technology to overcome the limitations of current systems which are restricted to 1D interpretation due to common procedures and systems mainly sensitive to layered structures.

Error analysis and capability modelling for towed streamer electromagnetics
Authors J. Mattsson, G. Hall, E. Björnemo, A. McKay, M. Ronaess and C. AndersonJohan Mattsson, Guy Hall, Erik Björnemo, Allan McKay, Marit Ronaess and Chris Anderson present two current projects aimed at verifying the capabilities of the Petroleum Geo-Services’ towed streamer electromagnetics acquisition system due to go commercial later this year.
