Geophysical exploration for hydrocarbons in Italy
By D. BilgeriThis article is concerned with the main aspects of geophysical prospecting for oil and gas in Italy. A historical account of the evolution of geophysical techniques will be given, from the 1920s to the end of the 1980s. Some examples of seismic data acquired and processed with modern technology are presented.

Sealing fault traps - an exploration concept in a mature petroleum province: Tampen Spur, northern North Sea
By S. NybakkenThe Tampen Spur, located between the East Shetland Platform and the Viking Graben in the northern North Sea, has proved to be a very significant petroleum province. The area includes the Statfjord, Gullfaks and Snorre fields with recoverable reserves in the range 100-500 MSm³, as weIl as severallarge satellite fields in the nearby areas.
