Announcements
EAGE acknowledges the use of generative AI tools, like ChatGPT, Bard, etc, in research publications, books, articles and abstracts. However, some concerns have been raised about these tools and therefore EAGE has some rules in place. Refer to the EAGE statement on AI generated content for papers for more details.
In accordance with the statement from the EAGE board on the war inflicted by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, we are sorry to say that EAGE won't accept any submissions coming from Russian based entities. This includes EAGE events and all EAGE journals. Russian individuals, however, are welcome to submit at personal title.
Scope of the Journal
Geoenergy is a new co-owned journal of the Geological Society and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), launching in January 2023.
Continuing the mission of its sister journal, Petroleum Geoscience, Geoenergy focuses on the publication of timely and topical research in subsurface geoscience, critical for this new era of sustainable energy.
The journal considers articles on the following themes:
Energy storage: thermal energy storage, compressed air energy storage, hydrogen storage, hydroelectric storage
Subsurface disposal and storage: carbon capture and storage (CCS), bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), radioactive waste storage
Geothermal energy: exploration, characterisation and modelling of geothermal fields
Hydrogen energy: exploration, production and storage of hydrogen
Critical minerals and raw materials: minerals for the energy transition
Sustainability: surveillance and long-term assurance for management of subsurface resources
Rosmary Hutton Award
The EAGE’s Rosmary Hutton Award is presented to the author(s) of the best paper published in Geoenergy in the calendar year preceding the award. The paper should be of high scientific standard and should represent a significant contribution to one or more sub-surface disciplines.
