H007 0-000 PERMITTIVITY OF 2-LAYER SAMPLES: EXPERIMENTS AND MODEL A.G. GORRITI and E.C. SLOB Delft University of Technology Department of Geotechnology Mijnbouwstraat 120 2628 RX Delft Abstract In this paper we show electrical permittivity measurements on two-layer samples (one fully saturated and the other one with residual water saturation). By comparison of the measurements with the CRIM mixing law we show that these samples are not correctly modelled with an effective permittivity. They must be modelled as two distinct layers (introducing geometry in the mixing law) even when the wavelength is one or two orders of magnitude bigger than the
