Abstract
I018 Successful Use of a VSP Shear Wave Source Summary 1 A permanently installed (Life of Field Seismic or LoFS) array has been in operation over the Valhall field since October 2003. In order to use the recorded converted wave data to its full potential a newly developed shear wave source was used as part of a planned traditional Vertical Seismic Profile (VSP). This paper will attempt to describe the entire shear wave VSP operation from planning and acquisition to processing and final results. Introduction The Valhall field is an over-pressured under-saturated Upper Cretaceous chalk reservoir located in the North
