Abstract

P284 STRUCTURAL CONCEPTS SUPPORTING FRONTIER EXPLORATION IN THE ANDEAN FOOTHILLS: NEW INSIGHTS Introduction 1 The Andean foothill is the geological framework of one of the areas with high expectations for oil reserves and hydrocarbons exploration of the emerged portion of the South American continent. However being a transition region among different prior pericratonic sedimentary environments later suffering significant cortical shortening due to a superimposed mountain range area it shows complex temporospatial relations of the processes controlling the oil systems. Thus supporting the existence of varied hypothesis paradigms adding indirectly to the confusion of their geometry and architecture of the link
