Abstract
B023 DETERMINATION OF APPARENT RESISTIVITY THROUGH HIGH-FREQUENCY ELECTROMAG- NETIC MEASUREMENTS Abstract 1 A technique for determining the apparent resistivity of the earth’s near-surface strata through the measurement of the mutual impedance of an array of loop antennas operating a high frequency is presented. The measuring system developed for this purpose is described. A simple method of interpreting the mutual impedance measurements to obtain a trace of the apparent resistivity of the investigated semiconducting medium is given. Finally one of the potential applications of the technique – the identification of inhomogeneities in levees – is presented. The horizontal resistivity plots obtained
