KIM Kangwon National University 192-1 Hyoja2-dong Chunchon-si Kangwon-do Republic of Korea To minimize processing efforts and avoid processing artifacts caused by extreme velocity gradients of shallow seismic data a quick and robust method utilizing optimum time windows varying with offset is proposed and applied to real data. The offset-variant optimum time window (OOTW) is defined as a time window where primary reflection signals are well separated from each other and isolated from shot-generated seismic noise.
