Abstract

P032 THE EFFECT OF SEASONAL TEMPERATURE VARIATIONS ON THE RESISTIVITY OF GLACIAL TILL Abstract 1 Monitoring at a site on glacial till in Shropshire UK of the changes in the resistivity of the shallow subsurface through time has provided evidence of significant temperature effects. Relationships between electrical resistivity and temperature have been determined in the laboratory. Using these with an analytical model of temperature variation with depth and time it is shown how it may be possible to correct for the temperature variation so that the effects of moisture content changes may be distinguished.
