P054 ADVANCED ANALYSIS OF SELF-POTENTIAL DATA IN ORE DEPOSITS AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES Summary 1 Non-expensive and prompt self-potential (SP) measurements contain useful information about features of the geological structures in the areas under investigation. For eliminating the terrain relief effect (significantly distorting the observed SP field) was suggested to use a correlation technique developed earlier in magnetic prospecting. Essential similarities between magnetic and SP fields make it possible to apply to SP modifications of the rapid methods of characteristic points and tangents developed for magnetic prospecting.
