P056 VARIATION OF CLAY RESISTIVITY WITH MOISTURE LOSS Abstract 1 Time-lapse electrical imaging is a potentially useful technique in the investigation of building subsidence due to moisture loss in clay soils. However the electrical properties of clays are poorly understood. We have carried out experiments to monitor the change in resistivity with moisture content for a selection of seven British clays and two pure clays. The results demonstrate that most clays show very little change in resistivity until moisture content drops to a very low level (<15%).
