Abstract

A26 HOW OUR APPROACH TO FRACTURED RESERVOIRS HAS MATURED OVER TIME? Abstract 1 Although some of the first reservoirs drilled and produced world-wide were fractured reservoirs they soon fell into disfavor in the oil and gas industry. The reasons were a mixture of availability of more conventional reservoir prospects and the lack of sound reservoir engineering techniques for these reservoirs. However many relatively early fractured reservoirs displayed the upside potential of these reservoirs. These included the giant Kirkuk Asmari carbonate reservoir in Iraq the carbonate and granite reservoirs of La Paz Field in Venezuela and several of the Devonian shale
