Abstract
B10 GAS EXPLORATION IN MEDITERRANEAN SEA EGYPT SUMMARY 1 The recent success of the gas exploration in the Mediterranean province is the result of the aggressive exploration efforts since 1960s. Through time and as indicated by statistical analysis exploration followed different approaches and concepts. In early days the targets in the area were Cretaceous reservoirs. However drilling results proved that Mesozoic targets are deeper than expected and also indicated the high potentiality of Miocene reservoirs. During 1990s as a results of introducing GAS CLAUSE in the Petroleum Exploration Agreements and also due to methodological improvements many Miocene & Pliocene gas
