P18 COMPLETE MECHANICAL DESCRIPTION OF ANISOTROPIC SEDIMENTARY ROCKS – EXPERIMENTS VERSUS THEORY Summary 1 Many experimental results show that rocks are anisotropic with respect to elastic properties in other words elastic properties depends on the direction of the measurement. The rocks can also exhibit a strong non-linear elastic answer with hysteresis which appears in various ways (non-linear stress-strain loops and the deformation of the peaks of resonances in a test of bar of resonance…). In this this paper we make a test of a model that synthesizes these two behaviours. The agreement between the theoretical predictions and the experimental data
