Abstract
P34 A NEW GLOBAL WELL-LOGGING INVERSION METHOD FOR CHARACTERIZATION OF HYDROCARBON FORMATIONS Abstract 1 In the paper a global optimization method solving the nonlinear geophysical well logging inverse problem is presented which can be applied to the petrophysical characterization of hydrocarbon reservoirs. We adopted a Very Fast Simulated Annealing (VFSA) optimization technique which is advantageous to use because of the quickness of searching the absolute optimum of the objective function. At first a point by point inversion method using local response equations is applied to estimate the unknown petrophysical parameters (effective porosity water saturations shale and sandstone content and movable-
