Abstract
De Beers Africa Exploration has the goal of discovering the equivalent of an additional world class primary
deposits by the end of 2004. This is part of an overall corporate goal of securing a greater portion of the
diamond market while reducing costs. To accomplish this task, exploration cycle time, the movement of
projects from the grassroots stage to either evaluation or abandonment, has been shortened. With De Beers
moving into more difficult regions the delivery of cost-effective geophysics has become paramount.
