The calculation of the gravity tensor elements for a parallelepiped and its application to modelling airborne gravity tensor measurements

Abstract
The recent collection of airborne gradiometer data prompted the question of how to interpret this data. The formula for the vertical gradient of the gravity potential over a parallelepiped was expanded to also include the two orthogonal horizontal gradients of the potential. This formulation can now be used to calculate any gravity tensor component of a geological model in a forward sense.
