Abstract

During airborne surveys, transmission from land-based radar stations usually interferes with caesium magnetometers RF oscillator that drives the caesium cells internal lamp. This results in the caesium magnetometers being affected differently depending on the aircrafts position and orientation with regards the radar stations, as well as the position of the transmitting antenna at the particular time. This problem has been addressed during a fixed wing borne survey using Fugro Airborne Surveys’ TRIAX Magnetic system.
