Abstract
Sedimentary rocks of the Late Permian Adelaide Subgroup of the Karoo Supergroup cover most of the sheet area, with the exception of a small inlier of Ecca Group rocks near Maselspoort. Dykes and sills of Jurassic dolerite have intruded the sediments. Dark grey to black dolerite of the Jurassic period intruded the sediments of the Beaufort Group as dykes and sills. Most of the rocks in the area are covered by soil, colluvium and to a small extent alluvium.
