Abstract
The spatial distribution of the aftershock sequences of the (, Mb5.8), Masisi (, Mb5.1)
and Kalehe (, Mb5.9) earthquakes have been studied. From the area delimited by the
spatial distributions of aftershocks, the linear dimensions of the faults were estimated.
The fault area determined in this study correlates well with those of previous studies in
the Western Rift Valley of Africa including the and Upemba Rift.
