Abstract

F-17 SHELL’S DRIVE FOR 4D SEISMIC Introduction 1 In the last 12 months Shell has begun a major effort to incorporate time-lapse reservoir monitoring (of which 4D seismic is an essential element) into the development of a large number of fields. The aim of a global ‘4D implementation thrust’ is to maximise the value extracted from the surveys in terms of saved costs increased / accelerated revenue and improved HSE management. The ‘implementation thrust’ has already shown significant impact over a short period and we discuss some of the activities and the reasons for its success.
