P032 PETROPHYSICAL STUDIES OF SANDSTONES UNDER TRUE-TRIAXIAL STRESS CONDITIONS 1 An innovative polyaxial (true-triaxial) stress-loading system has been developed (King et al. 1995) for conducting petrophysical tests on 50mm-side cubic specimens of rock with the capability of varying two of the principal stresses independently to 115MPa and the third to 750Mpa (Figure 1) with pore pressures limited to 5MPa.
