PASTEKA Abstract 1 The commonly adopted structural index value used when applying Euler deconvolution to the step/contact in gravimetry is N = 1. An argument based upon analytical considerations and empirical data suggests that the value N = −1 is more appropriate. The precise interpretation of the derivation shows that the anomalous field from this structure is not homogeneous in Euler’s sense.
