Abstract

Ground gravity and aerogravity data over parts of a licence area in Libya were compared. The ground truthing helped to identify artefacts and noise in the aerogravity vertical gradient data. The optimum filter lengths (as advocated by the acquisition companies) is not sufficient, thus additional low pass filtering is required to remove these artefacts. Based in this additional filtering a minimum lline spacing for basin scale exploration has been deduced.
