Abstract

Executed multichannel seismic investigation and deep seismic sounding along regional line 4-B, western part of 3-AR geotrancest (Kalevala-Kem’-White Sea) and north Karelian segment of line 1-EB (Kandalaksha-Kem) allow for the very first time studying of Earth crust of White Sea and Eastern part of Fennoscandian shield region. Multichannel seismic investigations were resulted in standard seismic sections meantime deep seismic sounding data were inverted into tomographic velocity sections. Comparison and complex interpretation of the results achieved were performed. It shows that both methods reflect different properties of the medium and results do not fit each to other everywhere. On other hand complex interpretation based on both multichannel seismic data and deep seismic sounding is more complete and reliable than interpretation based on one of the methods. Some geological conclusions are also drawn.
